Dont know if its just me, but I dont really hv much interest in visiting zoo, to be frank. :-) Watching National Geography gives me more than a zoo can offer .. hmmm . ... but on second thought, its a long weekend, and we were not going anywhere, and we have children age below 12 .. so I guess revisiting the zoo was quite a good idea .. the idea of going to the zoo came while in office, and texted hubby right away. He agreed to the plan but not Saturday as he'll be working.
So, Last Friday I had a chance to revisit the zoo, .. between Sunday and Friday, I choose Friday .. yep got contraints there in terms of time as there'll be Friday prayer .. but hey, we can adjust that no? -- and yes, i hv the say to pick which day .. hehe
Kids were so excited when we told them the plan. I dont know if they really understand what is zoo. hehehe! Lydia said zoo is where animals live .. and Idlan, am sure he had no idea ...as early as 6 am Lydia woke me up, reminding us on the trip. She really coudlnt wait!
Left around 8.30, we took Sg. Buloh route, ehemm .. to avoid tolls huhuhu! and from my place its nearer of course. about 9 we reached Zoo's gate but I didnt want to go in. hehehe .. We havent had any breakfast so went to Tmn. Melawati, checked into one Johorean restaurant and had bfast. ha, baru la syok nak jalan!
First thing came to mind at the zoo's gate was P.Ramlee's movie 'Masam-masam Manis'. hehehe the same gate was in the 60s movie. Good they remain it that way. kind of nostalgic gitu.
The sound of elephant welcomed us and Idlan was sort of afraid. Lydia was the onw who tried to cool him down. "Abang Lan jgn la takut, kakak ada .."
We took tram the 1st half way, Just like that .. just to let the kids experience it. Tram stopped at the 1st stop point and from there we started. 1st was Tiger ..huh.. I didnt expect the tiger to be so far away from us .. i mean yeah its a safety reason .. but dah le only one tiger .. and we were saparated by water .. and the tiger was nowhere to be seen .. huurrrmmmm .. really had to wait and spot the tiger .. once spotted, had to quickly tell the kids so they wont missed it! haiihhh.. tiring! its OK kids, we will see the tiger closer in TV! huhuhu!
Then, a lion. yep A LION. One lion .. and good that the lion didnt play hide and seek. He stayed there. and the prob is, it just stayed theere .. no movement at all .. no sound at all .. aiyooo! how to tell my kids that lion is king of the jungle??? hmmmm .. ok will explain in front of TV too maybe. maybe by watching Lion King the movie. sorry I dont blame the lion or the zoo .. its a natural thing .. maybe its in the morning and not in the mood to show some tiger shows or lion shows .. heheheh .. takkan tunggu malam gak?? oopss!
Seems like lion and tiger didnt give excitemnt to both Lydia and Idlan .. memasing muka bosan. haih!
I saw Idlan started showing his interest when we passed by a group of deers. Some with horns some not. Idlan stopped and watched. No sign of scared feeling. Which made me feel relief. but guess who was really chickened out? hmmm Lydia lah .. most of the time she stood behind me or bapak .. avoid to be seen by any of the animals .. hmmm dah terbalik dah.
The same thing happned at kangaroo's, birds, elephants and giraffes. Idlan was always be at the front while Lydia sometimes didnt even want to look at the animals. adeh! but good thing is she is so concerned on the signage of each animal. She read everything written and told us to follow. :-)
Later in reptilia's centre, both Lydia and Idlan enjoyed watching turtles, crocodiles, XL size torteises and snakes .. now both seems brave .. and Idlan.. wow tak sangka lah .. he really showed interest .. he can stay in one place, mencangkung bagai .. and he really observed. Really good thing! We had to drag him to proceed to other places.
As for me, the most enjoyable moment was while watching the bears playing cradle and showd some acrobatics actions .. Oh did I mentioned Fahren? No? oh thats because he was sleeping most of the time :-) Thanks to dear hubby who wanted to put Fahren in babywear, a carrier. No stroller means no hassle, seriously!
It was about 12 when we finished all (except insect house we didnt go in. tak minat lah!). We again took tram, going up the hill (all were too tired to walk un the hill to check for camels and other savannah's animals) ..
Entering gift shop. me as usual, my style i can say .. memana pi, wajib beli frame gambo (must have the place name printed on it) kahkahkah! AS IF zoo negara is like in different countries ... yeah i know but been living in kl area almost 10 years .. and not even one visit to this so called tourism place.. dp u think we'll be coming back here within these 5 years? hmm so, beli je la kann .. anggap je lah you are a tourist .. hiks!
Half day in the zoo, was indeed a great moment for our family :-) and when I asked Idlan about zoo, his answer,
"dalam zoo ada buaya, dia berenang kat abang dia, tapi abang dia tidur.." hmmmm thanks to the crocodiles yang berenang sana sini so my kids can say some stories :-)
Lydia plak, prefers to show in action on how kanggaroos jumping from one point to the other ..
as for me and hubby, senyum je lah! happy2 lah sambil korek2 poket ada ke balance? ngeh ngeh ngeh!
OK Lah! lets enjoy the piccas!!
